Senator Spilka Welcomes Franklin Chargers 2009 Champion Football and Cheerleader Teams to the State House

On Wednesday, February 17, Senator Spilka presented citations to the 2009 Franklin Chargers B Pop Warner football team, which defeated the Norfolk/Millis/Medfield Vikings 26-8 to win the Hockomock Superbowl! 

She also presented citations to the Franklin Chargers B Squad cheerleaders, who won the title of 2009 Jr. Midget Hockomock Champions in October, and placed 4th in the National Competition in December! 

This is the second Superbowl win for Coach Robert Dellorco and several players who played for the 2008 C1 Pop Warner football team.

The Senator offered her personal congratulations on this amazing accomplishment to captains Robert Dellorco Jr, Ryan Prairie, Chris Roche, Quenten Harrel, and Nolan Deverix, and players Colin Brady, Devin Brady, Benjamin Burke, Colston Comfort, John Dailey, Joseph Dailey, Jacob Dextradeur, Thomas Downing, Tyler Etzel, Sean Foley, Kyle Gillis, Richard Hallet, Shawn Hanley, Nick Hare, John Horrigan III, Christopher Jenkins, Christopher Lutz, William Lynch, Owen Mackenzie, Matthew Mancini, Kevin Murray, Christopher Rodgers, Anders Shobaken, Derek Tetrault, Sean Tetrault, Brett Van Vort, Matthew Zajac.

She also congratulated head coach Robert Dellorco, assistant coaches Scott Prairie, Larry Mancini, Bill Tetrault, Dave Comfort, John Roche, and Chris Murray, and ‘Team Mom’ Maureen Shobaken.

After placing first at the Hockomock Competition, the cheerleaders moved on to the Regional Qualifier Competition in Springfield on November 7th, placing second and advancing to the Regional Finals.  The Regional Championship was held November 21st in Worcester.  The girls placed second and headed to the National Championship in Walt Disney World, Florida.

Proudly representing the New England Region, the Hockomock Pop Warner League and the Franklin Chargers Association, on December 9, 2009 the girls placed 4th in the National Competition and brought home an amazing trophy!

The Senator praised the cheerleaders for their impressive victory and congratulated Amanda, Jules, Megan, Lindsey, Casey, Molly, Christine, Kathryn, Emily, Alicia, Brie, Kaylie, Jess, Jenna G, Allie H, Jenna I, Maddie, Brooke, Allie L, Alyssa, Kalyn, Courtney, Andrea, Allie O, Caitlin, Belle, Nicole, Kaytee, Sydney along with coaches Krissy Connolly, Lauren Elias, Ann Imbrogna, Kathi Saunders, Elayne Fournier and Janet Malcolm.
