Statewide “Embrace Your Future” Campaign Launches in Natick

Senator Spilka’s office joined Governor Deval Patrick, Secretary of Elder Affairs Ann L. Hartstein, and Undersecretary of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation Barbara Anthony today at the launch of Massachusetts’ “Embrace Your Future” long-term care awareness campaign at the Morse Institute Library in Natick.

“As a strong advocate for seniors and persons with disabilities, I applaud Governor Patrick and Secretary Hartstein for pulling together this comprehensive guide of long-term care options,” stated Senator Spilka.  “It will be of immense benefit to seniors who are anticipating long-term care needs and persons with disabilities in the MetroWest and throughout the state. This forward-thinking approach will help residents budget for secure, healthy and productive futures.”

Senator Spilka to Speak at SOAR 55 Opening in Framingham

A volunteer program for people age 55 and over is opening a satellite office at the Framingham Public Library next week.

Service Opportunities After Reaching 55, or SOAR 55, will celebrate the opening of its satellite office at the library on Wednesday, Jan. 20 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.  Senator Spilka will be a featured guest speaker.

Join Senator Spilka at her 2009 Senior Health and Wellness Fair, held at the Callahan Senior Center in Framingham on Saturday, November 21st from 9:00am – 1:30pm (See a complete schedule below).

 
  • Health screenings will include blood pressure, bone density, glucose, vision and hearing.
  • Lunch will include boneless stuffed chicken breast, mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, rolls, cranberry sauce, cookies & brownies.
