MetroWest MassDOT Community Forum in Framingham
Senator Karen Spilka is pleased to announce that the new Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MASSDOT) is holding its first regional Community Forum meeting in Framingham on Tuesday, January 26, 2010.
The forum, which is open to the public, will be held in the Blumer Room in Framingham Town Hall, located at 150 Concord Street, from 5:30 to 6:45 p.m. This facility is fully accessible to persons with disabilities.
Senator Spilka invites residents from throughout the MetroWest to participate in this very important discussion of the region’s transportation needs.
The forum will begin with an overview of MassDOT, the creation of which was the result of the historic transportation reform bill signed into in 2009. Stephen Jones, the Deputy Director of Railroad Operations at the MBTA, will give an update on Framingham Commuter Rail Service, and Jamey Tesler of MassDOT will speak about the recent deal between CSX and the state. The majority of the forum will be dedicated to questions, feedback and comments.
MassDOT’s January forum is part of its You Move Massachusetts Civic Engagement Initiative.
