Spilka Hosts Reception for Local Breast Cancer Foundation at State House
Tomorrow, Senator Karen Spilka is hosting a reception at the Massachusetts State House to present and honor an exhibit by the Framingham-based Art beCAUSE Breast Cancer Foundation.
The exhibit features black and white portraits of men and women who have faced breast cancer head-on and starting today until this Friday, September 16th, the exhibit will be on display in Doric Hall. The photographs of this collection were taken by David Fox, a Brookline resident who lost his first wife to breast cancer.
The reception on Tuesday will include opening remarks from Senate President Therese Murray followed by a keynote address from Senator Spilka.
Established in 2000, the Art beCAUSE Breast Cancer Foundation uses profits from their Framingham-based art gallery to fund research dedicated to exploring the links between environmental chemical exposure and breast cancer.
