STEP Grant Program Launched to Help MA Small Businesses Boost Export Programs and Sales
The Massachusetts Office of International Trade and Investment (MOITI) is now offering a grant program to help small businesses in the Commonwealth increase their export programs and develop their international business, announced Senator Karen Spilka.
The Massachusetts State Trade and Export Promotion (STEP) Grant Program offers financial assistance to eligible Massachusetts small businesses seeking new and increased export sales of their goods and services. This program is designed to help offset international business development and related marketing costs for small businesses.
Grants through the STEP Program will be capped at $10,000 per business to reimburse for costs associated with projects, activities or services undertaken during the period of March 1, 2012 to September 29, 2012. Each grant recipient is required to provide a match to cover 25% of the total approved cost for any project, activity or service.
The STEP Program has been launched through a grant from the United States Small Business Administration and is a collaborative effort between MOITI, the Massachusetts Small Business Development Center, and the Massachusetts Export Center.
To be considered for the STEP program, companies or firms must meet the U.S. Small Business Administration definition of small business. Click here to see if your business meets these standards.
MOITI will accept submissions for consideration from April 16 – May 15, 2012.
