Ashland State Park to Reopen
After working closely with Town Officials and the Administration, Senator Karen Spilka announced today that Ashland State Park will finally be reopened – something the Town has spent many years advocating for.
Spilka, along with many local leaders and residents, has been working hard to reopen the 470 acre park, which was originally closed in 2009 because of budget cuts.
A number of residents and officials joined Spilka for today’s announcement, including Energy and Environmental Affairs Secretary Richard Sullivan, Department of Conservation and Recreation Commissioner Ed Lambert, Representative Tom Sannicandro, and members of the Ashland Board of Selectmen.
The park will reopen in 2013.
