Elected Officials and Staff to Hold Joint Office Hours Friday in Framingham
FRAMINGHAM, MA – Staff members from the offices of U.S. Senator Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and U.S. Representative Edward J. Markey (D-MA) will hold joint office hours in Framingham on Friday, April 5th. They will be joined by Massachusetts State Senator Karen Spilka (D-Ashland), Massachusetts State Representatives Tom Sannicandro (D-Ashland), Chris Walsh (D-Framingham), and staff from the office of State Representative Tom Conroy (D-Wayland).
The joint office hours will be held at the Office of Congressman Ed Markey , 188 Concord Street, Suite 102, from 10:30am-11:30am.
“These office hours are a great way for people to share their concerns about what’s happening in Washington or to ask for assistance with the federal government,” said Senator Warren. “This is a chance for us to hear from local residents about the issues that matter to them, so I can best represent Massachusetts families in the U.S. Senate.”
Rep. Markey said, “Listening to the thoughts, comments, and concerns of my constituents is a critical part of my job as the United States Representative for the Town of Framingham. My staff looks forward to meeting with constituents in Framingham and to helping them with any issue they may have with a federal agency.”
“As State Senator, my primary job is to advocate for my constituents,” said State Senator Karen Spilka. “As always, I look forward to learning more about the needs, priorities, and concerns of the residents of my district and working to help them with issues regarding the state.”
“Senator Warren and Congressman Markey are engaged in our community. We’re lucky to have such responsive legislators,” said State Representative Tom Sannicandro. “I hope people come and take advantage of this unique opportunity to address their issues to their elected legislators at every level.”
“I am pleased to be joining Senator Warren’s and Congressman Markey’s staff to hold office hours for Framingham residents. We are fortunate in Framingham to have state and federal legislators who are well-equipped to assist people in various ways to address their concerns and needs. I look forward to joining my legislative colleagues to hear the topics that our constituents want to discuss,” said State Representative Chris Walsh.
State Representative Tom Conroy said, “I encourage Framingham residents to come to the office hours to meet state and federal officials who might be able to help them. That’s our role as public servants: to serve the people, and the more we can learn about how to best help constituents, the better we are doing our jobs.”
Constituents will have the opportunity to discuss concerns they have on state and federal issues. Members of Sen. Warren’s and Rep. Markey’s staff will be available to assist residents with issues pending before a federal agency, including the Department of Veterans Affairs, Medicare, the Social Security Administration, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, and others. No appointment is necessary.
