Art Slow Looking
The average time a visitor spends looking at a work of art in a museum is between 15 and 30 seconds. At the Danforth, we encourage slow-looking and engaging our visitors with a more active approach to considering the artwork in our museum galleries. Consider noticing details, lingering in the visual information and wondering about the story behind the work. This practice actually allows for a mind-body connection which promotes a restful sense of well-being. We invite you to view this piece and practice visual thinking and slow looking with us.
