Governor Baker Signs Criminal Justice Reform Bill into Law

Today the Governor signed our sweeping criminal justice reform bill into law - long overdue reforms that reflect best practices in criminal justice to divert people from the system, encourage rehabilitation and reduce crime.

I’m especially proud to have worked closely with so many passionate, engaged young people from UTEC & Teens Leading the Way to create a process for the expungement of many records. Thank you to these young advocates for coming to my office years ago and sharing your deeply personal stories about the power of second chances and the need to help people learn from their mistakes!
