Senate President Spilka on Honoring the Memories of George Floyd, Breonna Taylor and Ahmaud Arbery

I recognize that being angry and heartbroken is not enough. We must listen, support, and amplify the voices of communities of color. I am committed to doing the work to make myself a better ally and fighter for racial justice in the Commonwealth.

I want to thank my fellow colleagues in the Massachusetts Black and Latino Legislative Caucus and other elected leaders of color for hosting yesterday’s powerful event and for creating a space and opportunity to listen and reflect on how we can do better.

I encourage everyone to join me. And as we work towards advancing actionable solutions, please don’t hesitate to reach out to my office.
