Statement on Hybrid Meeting Law Agreement
BOSTON (3/17/2025) — Today Senate President Karen E. Spilka (D-Ashland) released the following statement regarding an agreement on the extension of remote and hybrid meetings for public bodies in Massachusetts:
"I am pleased to announce that we have reached agreement with the House of Representatives to extend public body remote and hybrid meetings through June of 2027. I have heard loud and clear from my colleagues, and the communities we represent, that hybrid meetings have increased access, engagement, and transparency in local government, and I look forward to the Senate passing this extension to June 2027 on Thursday, and then working in our chamber to enact a permanent hybrid meeting law."
